President Maheras
welcomed ladies at 7:00 p.m. Diane Diehl, led us in opening
prayer.
Minutes stand as read.
Financial Report was was accepted
for audit.
Kelli Hall reported that there were no funeral dinners to
report.
Unfinished Business:
Louanna thanked Kelli Hall
and Janice Woods for chairing the Bunco social. It was a success and
twenty-four women enjoyed the evening.
The Chili Cook-Off will be on
February 11 at St. Anthony's Hall at 6:00 p.m. It will cost $5 per person.
Entries are needed along with decadent desserts for the dessert auction.
Portneuf Brewing will have four homemade brews available for a donation. Sign
up sheets will be available after tonight's meeting. This affair is for adults
only.
Bingo Mania will be on February 19, 1:30- 4:00 p.m. Families are
encouraged to bring a snack to share. Popcorn and juice will be provided. Sign
up sheets will be available after tonight's meeting to help with this event or
call Barbara McAdam, Family Concerns Commission Chair.
Rita already
sent a check to NCCW for $120, she forgot that anything more than $100 needs
approval at the General Meeting. President Maheras asked for approval from the
members.
Irene Schlader made a motion to accept the $120 sent to the
NCCW. Arlene Johnson seconded the motion.
We have 32 Idaho
Seminarians and would like to donate annually to support them.
Betty
Coffey made a motion to donate $500 the Idaho Seminarians, she amended the
motion be included every year with a special amount each year. Irene Schlader
seconded the motion.
We still have funds in our account and need to
think of a pet project to adopt. Several were mentioned. We decided to adopt
the Family Services Alliance. They are always in need of clothing, diapers,
personal hygiene items and etc. Diane Diehl suggested that the Shelter have a
fundraiser and we could possibly chair it. It would bring community awareness
and possibly bring donations. Kathy Barkdull suggested having boxes set up in
the back of the chapels designated for this project. Beth Huston suggested
letting the Boy Scouts and school know, because they are always looking for
service projects. It was also mentioned that Louanna speak with the women's
advocate to see what other items are needed.
Diane Diehl made a
motion to donate $300 to the Family Services Alliance, and Irene Schlader
seconded the motion. The voting was unanimous in the
affirmative.
After some discussion the ladies voted on the
following:
Rose Glass made a motion that requests for funds, from
outside this organization need to have an application form, which will be drawn
up this summer, request turned in by September and we would review all in
October. Betty Coffey seconded the motion. The voting was unanimous in the
affirmative.
Irene mentioned that a new microwave was needed at St.
Paul's. Kathy Barkdull suggested putting an announcement in the bulletin.
Arlene Johnson and Irene will write up an article for the bulletin.
This
month's social is Go Red for the Women, on Thursday, February 23, 7:00 p.m. at
St. Paul's Chapel. We will have women in the health professions speak on
women's health, learn some relaxation methods and a healthy goodie bag will be
available. Please wear RED to this social to show support for women's health.
We still have spots open on the Refreshment List. It's great having
some snacks and beverages at each meeting, however, we need hostesses to sign
up to bring them. The Hostesses must also make the coffee. The list will be
available at the meetings.
We also need ladies to sign up for snacks for
the students of St. John's at ISU. We unanimously voted to provide refreshments
on the second Sunday of the month for their fellowship following the 7:00 p.m.
Mass. If you make it, Louanna will pick it up and deliver it to them.
Rita Collins reported on Our Brother's Table is still in need of volunteers for
June and October. Rita said the same people are doing it and they need some
different people. Louanna thanked Rita for chairing this community project for
seven years.
Rose Glass reported throughout February she will be
collecting deactivated cell phones and chargers. She had hoped for a larger
donation but it still may pick up. If anyone is interested there are marked
boxes left at the back of the chapels.
The Sunshine Committee is up and
running. If you know of any CCW member in the hospital, nursing home, if
they're ill or just need a "Thinking of You Card" please let Barbara McAdam or
Louanna Maheras know. We need your eyes and ears on this project.
New Business:
CCW was asked to lead one of the Stations
of the Cross. We decided on March 17. We need a Cross carrier, along with
candle holders. Rita Collins, Heather McAdam and Arlene Johnson will represent
us. It is at 6:00 p.m. at St. Anthony's. Ladies, wear green in honor of St.
Patrick's day.
February 28th officers will get together to work on
annual commission reports.
Zonta Woman of Achievement Luncheon will be
on Saturday, March 4th at noon. Prepay to Rita Collins if you all interested in
attending. Kelli Hall was nominated to represent us.
Irene Schlader
made a motion to participate in the Zonta program and Christine LeBlanc
seconded the motion. The voting was unanimous in the affirmative. Kelli
reported that the Eastern Deanery meeting is in Idaho Falls on Saturday, March
25th.
President Maheras adjourned the meeting at 8:50 p.m.

Diehl led us in the closing prayer.
