Officers' Reports:

Louanna reported that we are still checking on ladies in assisted living. If anyone hears of a former member in a retirement or assistant living facility please let her know. Kelli Hall reported on funeral dinners. There have been three funerals since our last meeting. Kelli praised the women who captained these funerals. Special thanks to Betty Coffey, Barbara McFadden, Arlene Johnson and Dolly Morrison. She is hoping someone will captain the Hispanic funerals, and they could use some more captains. Ladies that bring dishes need to make sure their names are on the bottom of their dish. Janice Woods mentioned the last of the membership packets have been delivered.

Barb McAdam is planning family Bingo Mania. It will be on February 19th from 1:30-4:00. Diane Diehl is working with Beth Huston on the Befrienders project. It is Catholics meeting other Catholics in their neighborhoods. More information to follow. Rose Glass is collecting deactivated cell phones for the Women's Shelter during the month of February. There will be boxes left in the back of the church for phones. It will be announced in the bulletin. Rose reminded ladies of activities at ISU for Human Rights Day.

Tonight's guest speaker was Thais Ayre, Holy Spirit Stewardship Coordinator. She spoke on the ministry of stewardship and how it enhances the sharing of our gifts and talents. She encouraged anyone interested to call the Pastoral Office, more information to follow in the bulletin.

Unfinished Business:

Louanna thanked Kelli Hall and Janice Woods for chairing the Christmas party. We collected canned goods and paper products for the Women's Shelter. We collected $200 to donate to St. Vincent de Paul.

The Holiday Card Party was a success there were 32 players who enjoyed a day of fun and lunch. Thank you to Dolly Morrison for chairing this event. Another thank you to Dolly for hosting the Eastern Deanery Holiday Brunch.

Special thanks to Arlene Johnson, Christine Hofman, Margaret Christensen, Kelli Hall and Louanna Maheras for providing lunch and dinner for the deanery priests and pastoral staff. During our February meeting we will break up into teams to discuss our plans for the new kitchen.

Chili Cook-off is on February 11th. Claudia Allen is chairing this event. Claudia will meet with officers to update on information. Entries are needed, along with desserts to auction off.

New Business:

We made approximately $1800 on the Fall Festival. We need to start thinking on how to spend some of it and what charities we are going to donate to. The Scholarship fund comes out of the Raffle money. Rita will have a report at our next general meeting on the Fall Festival.

The International Food Festival is February 25-26, they have asked us to donate funds towards the paper goods.

Diane Diehl made a motion to donate $300 to the International Food Fair, and Arlene Johnson seconded the motion. The voting was unanimous in the affirmative.

The Holy Spirit School Auction is February 4th. We would like to support the school through a donation.

Thank you to Rita Collins for providing the door prizes, and thank you to Louanna Maheras and Janice Bisharat for the refreshments. We still are in need of ladies to bring refreshments for our meetings.
