President Maheras
opened the meeting at 7:00 p.m. Diane Diehl was excused from tonight's meeting
so Louanna led us in the opening prayer.
Secretary's Report: Minutes stand as
read.
Financial Report: We have a balance of $2,468.75. The
report will be filed for audit.
Correspondence: Thank you
cards from the Roman Catholic Diocese of Boise Office of Vocations for our gift
of $500 towards the Vocation Ministry. Also, thank you cards from Sister Helen,
and the Patty "Mulick" Claunch's family.
Officer's Reports:
Kelli Hall reported there will be a new format to the funeral dinners.
There will be a list of every lady in the parish and our three callers will
call on everyone so that it isn't the same people getting called. Betty Coffey,
Gloria Zaccardi and Dorothy Frangesh will be our calling team. Arlene Johnson,
Dolli Morrison and Barbara McFadden will be our captains. There will be a list
for people who bring food to sign off on their name. Thanks to Rita Collins for
helping out while Barbara's father was ill.
Commission Chair
Presentation was given by Organization Chair-Kelli Hall.
Unfinished
Business: Thank you to Dorothy Frangesh who volunteered to donate a
Thanksgiving centerpiece for one of our raffle items at the Fall Festival.
Family Concerns Chair-Barbara McAdam and President Louanna Maheras
reported on their trip to the NCCW General Assembly.
Special thanks to
Kelli Hall, Louanna Maheras and Linda Vanderford for providing refreshments for
St. John's. Also, to the ladies who helped with the Fall Festival mailing: Rita
Collins, Diane Diehl, Kelli Hall, Christine Hofman, Louanna Maheras, Barbara
McAdam, Mary Kay Molitor and Janice Woods.
Janice B reported that she
has volunteers for hostesses through January 2007. At the January meeting I
will have the sign up sheet for the reminder of the year. Louanna mentioned the
need for volunteers to provide refreshments to St. John's after Sunday mass on
the second Sunday of the month.
The Mexican Dinner is coming together.
Rose Glass is still laid up and needs help. If you can help please give her a
call.
October 22 from 1:30-4:30 we need to provide finger foods for the
Faith Festival. There will be approximately 150 people.
Our annual Fall
Festival will be held at St. Anthony's this year on November 3rd and 4th. Sign
up sheets will be available after tonight's meeting to help with
event.
We need ladies to volunteer to make raffle baskets. Last year we
had some very clever themes for the baskets. Thank you to Carolyn Jensen,
Rosemary Nett, Barbara McAdam, Betty Coffey and Mary Brownley for volunteering
to make baskets. Volunteers will be reimbursed $30 for your
expense.
This month's social we will be making crafts for the fall
festival. Claudia Allen and Diane Robinson will come and show us how to put
gift jars together.
Peggy Kaiser updated us on our annual Halloween
Carnival. She has volunteers and needs candy, cakes and cupcakes. She could use
some help with set up and clean up. It will be on Sunday, October 29 at St.
Paul's from 1-4:30.
Janice W. and Kelli are working on the Christmas
Party. It will be on December 14 at ISU in the Wood River Room. There will be
more information to follow.
2007 Festival of Treeswe need 2 more
people (Diane Diehl and Jane Magee on committee). Tonight's the last night to
enter this year's Secret Angels.
We will be sending out the last of this
year's program book to members that haven't picked them up.
New
Business: November meeting is our Memorial Mass for Deceased CCW
members at 6:00 pm before the General Meeting @ 7 pm. There will be a Habitat
for Humanity Gingerbread Bake-off sometime in December. Father Enrique has
asked that our HSCCW host the coffee hours for three times a year at each
chapel.
Announcements: Bi-Deanery Meeting will be on
October 14th starting with registration at 7:45. Kelli would like at least
twenty ladies from our CCW to attend.
Happy October Birthday to Diane
Diehl on October 3 and Mary Kay Molitor on October 10.
Tonight's
Ministry Presentation was given by Cathey Patshull on the Befrienders
project.
Three Door prizes were given away to Rita Collins, Rosemary
Nett and Peggy Kaiser.
Thank you to Jean Stroschein and Jean Spanbauer
for providing the refreshments and being the hostesses for tonight's meeting.
Louanna led us in closing prayer. Louanna Maheras adjourned the meeting
at 9:05 pm.
